The relationship between Puni and Mott is never fully restored. Do you agree with this statement?

In the novel we read towards the end that Puni and Mott come to some sort of forgiveness but there is and understanding that their friendship is never restored to what it was like before the accident in their childhood. In this essay it will prove that their friendship is never fully restored. Firstly it will deal with how good their friendship was before the accident Secondly. It will deal with the change in their friendship after the accident; this essay will thereafter discuss a further change in their relationship on how it improves but can never be rekindled to how their friendship was prior to the accident.

Before the accident, William and Puni had a brotherly relationship. They can understand one another in their individual languages; they are both the same age so they can relate to one another well. However Puni is an adventurous boy and aspires to be like his father unlike Mott who is also adventurous but is scared of his father and feels that he has to be like his father in duteous way.   Despite these differences William and Puni are great friends, they go out on adventures together and Puni always tells William may stories about his ancestors and how brave his father is. As Puni aspires to become like his father this leads William and Puni to go on may outings and adventures into the wilderness. Experiencing all these exciting expeditions this makes William and Puni extremely close.
