Do you like trying to keep up with the latest fashions? Can you afford to? Do you enjoy picking out a different outfit every the day of the week for school? Do you like wearing clothes less expensive then those around you?
Most of us can answer no to at least one of those questions. Style seems to take over our society, and in school, we shouldn"t be putting up with it. Yes, every person wants their individual right to be different, style is a form of expression, but style shouldn"t be a form of life, where as a student will have friends or no friends because of it. At school, students should all be treated equally. School uniforms should be a requirement.
To those who disagree, have you ever been into a high school? Forget style, and latest fashions. Have you ever seen what students wear? Have you ever noticed the girl with the skirt that"s way to short? The guy with profanity on his tee-shirt? Is this the environment which is considered normal for children to get a proper education? It shouldn"t be. School uniforms will not only save money, prevent students from being picked on for what they can afford, but it will help cease more attention from the students. You may think, clothes don"t make a big impact on student"s education or attention. But along with the girl whose skirts to short, comes the guys" whose eyes" get glued to it. Students wear clothes for attention, school isn"t a place for attention, it is a place for education.
A School uniform requirement should be enforced in all school districts; it will benefit students, and parents. Because remember, do you want YOUR kid wearing that to school? Do you want to spend that money for your child for school?
