You have been at school all day long, slaving over endless class work and pop quizzes. After school you have sports, homework, and you"ve got little time to eat. No problem; there"s a McDonald"s a mere ten minutes from home. You could go there- it’s hot, it"s fast, and it"s convenient. Besides, they supposedly have healthy foods like chicken and fish on the menu. Approximately 45.8 million people are served at fast food restaurants every day in America, and why not? Fast foods are pre-prepared meals that are served quickly at several restaurants located throughout nearly every American city. But there is a downside to the convenience they provide: they simply are not good for us. Staying healthy and eating right is a lifestyle that many people should consider.
      A juicy hamburger from McDonalds dripping with special sauce topped with cheese is not exactly considered a healthy meal. What do sports, jobs, and clubs have in common? These are the activities that control the lives of most American people which leave them with very little time to eat a decent meal. Our society today is busy and on the go at all times. It is so much easier to stop and get fast food and then continue on. However, we should stop and think, is it really worth it to not eat right or exercise? 
Studies have shown that people who eat right and exercise live longer. Eating fattening foods clogs your heart with cholesterol and fat. People that do not exercise and continue to eat unhealthy foods will slow their metabolism. This is why over 70% of our society is overweight today. I guess it’s safe to say that you are what you eat. Junk food is like the air we breath, for it can be found anywhere around the world and anytime you want it.
      These days’ people just eat fast food instead of home made food. Fast food is contributing to a big social problem in the U.S., which is obesity, and recently some people are beginning to sue the fast food companies for causing their obesity. Should the...
