The purpose of a descriptive essay is to describe a person, place, or thing in much detail. The author’s purpose is to recreate their experience in a way in which the reader can visualize the actual event.

Characteristics Of Expository Essays

The two essays that I chose to read were "Setting the Table" and "Cochlear Implants".

    What characteristics make these essays expository?

    Both of the two essays I have read show facts and evidence to support their topics. The information was presented in a fair and non-biased manner.

Elaborate on this basic principal and the human language is formed. The evolution of language began with the ability to communicate basic needs, and opened the gateway to a greater level of feeling and expression.

It was an autumn evening. A girl was staring blankly out the window in her night gown. Her astounding eyes sparkled with sadness. Although nothing couldn"t be concluded from her complex and expressionless face, her baggy eyes told the stories of many sleepless nights.
